✨When did you start practicing Yoga?
I started practising at home with a yoga app in 2014 when I was pregnant, I wanted some gentle exercises that I could do. It wasn’t until 2015 that I attended my first class and it was so amazing (I cried my eyes out in savasana, the release of stress and negative energy from my body was intense) I was then hooked on how it made me feel and from then on I attended yoga classes almost daily.
✨Why do you practice yoga?
At first it was to keep my body strong, toned and flexible, but once I started practising in classes, I realised it was so much more than that! I practise because of how it makes me feel......calm, peaceful, grateful, strong (mentally as well as physically) and it gives me self confidence and enables me to navigate through my life with ease and make better decisions. The reasons for practising yoga are endless, it’s just amazing!
✨What’s your favourite pose?
I love child’s pose, I just love arriving on my mat, opening up through my hips, stretching out my arms and shoulders and gently placing my forehead down and breathing, it immediately makes me feel calm and grateful.
✨How do you feel after a class?
Calm, energised, invigorated, motivated, joyful and present.
✨Why did you train to be a teacher?
I wanted to share my passion for yoga and the amazing and endless benefits with others.
✨ Do you have any advice for someone that wants to try Yoga for the first time?
Yoga is for everyone, you don’t need to be flexible or be a certain size, or know anything about it before going to a class. Yoga is non-competitive, everyone is focused on their own practise so don’t worry about what others can or can’t do.
No one has ever regretted going to a yoga class, you’ll love it!
