Our Story
The birth of Corbridge yoga studio is a beautiful tale of both community and trust. The community started in 2017 when Natalie first began teaching in Corbridge youth club on Sunday mornings. What started as a few people gathering on a Sunday morning to move, breathe and heal together, quickly became something much bigger: A community of like-minded people was born.Fast forward to 2020, during the lockdown, we continued our yoga practice together on Facebook live classes but sadly when it was time to return to our in-person practice we no longer had our space.Natalie decided to take a leap of faith and start a crowdfunding campaign asking for funds to open a yoga studio. She asked for £10,000 to open the space and in return offered community members classes at a reduced price and free classes for NHS staff for the first year. The next four weeks were a rollercoaster of emotions as the community watched the kickstarter total go up.
Ask and you shall receive. As we became closer to the goal of £10,000 it became clear that this was going to be a very special place. The community not only believed that this space would truly bring Corbridge something it was calling out for, but also they wanted to spread the power of Yoga as far and wide as possible. By the end of the third week we had surpassed the goal and subsequently reached a figure of £11,320! So, it began. We opened our doors on the 21st of June 2021, a special day in Yoga; The Summer Solstice. Our community had now spread hugely, and we look forward to welcoming many more members to join us to move, learn and grow.

Vinyassa & Yin Yoga
Terri-Anne
Yoga is one of the most important parts of my life, I’ve practiced yoga for many years and been teaching since 2019.
Witnessing what yoga has done for my mind and body as well as how it has improved my lifestyle is why I am so passionate about teaching. I want to share how amazing and transformative it is to practice yoga.

Hatha Yoga
Hans
I have been dabbling with yoga for around 18 years and it became part of my daily routine after I joined a professional yoga studio in 2011 Fueled by a desire to get more involved I signed up for a 500 hour intensive teacher training course and became a fully qualified Hatha instructor at start of 2014. I have been teaching almost daily since then.

Renew and Refresh Yoga
Rachel
My love of yoga began when I was little and used to attend classes with my Mum. My Dad also practised yoga at home and it soon became a way of life. I have practised and studied for many years in Iyengar, Vinyasa and Yin yoga. I am a Holistic therapist and yoga for me can be a deeply therapeutic experience which I love to share with my students. I look forward to seeing you at class!

Vinyasa Yoga
Abigail
I’ve always been drawn to yoga and began practicing regularly in 2019. I noticed a positive impact on my life both physically and mentally. I felt stronger, more balanced and I found a new sense of calm. I became curious about the deeper philosophy behind yoga and loved exploring its teachings, which gave me a different perspective on life.
Yoga has taught me so much like how to embrace stillness, move through discomfort, and tap into natural healing techniques like breathwork. These tools have made such a difference in my daily life and I love sharing them with others!
I teach Vinyasa yoga and my classes are inspired by themes like the cycles of the moon, the energy of the chakras and anything else that speaks to reconnecting with yourself. The aim is always to nourish your soul, create space and help you feel grounded and connected.
